Hanna is a small town girl with a big city heart so when it came time for her senior pictures she had to have my Urban Session. These sessions are outrageously fun but take careful planning to make it a success. For her beach location, I chose Golden Garden Beach.  It has cool trees that line the edge of the sand and they make for a really interesting background. Hanna had a beautiful white dress that she planned to wear in the water and even though it was freezing… she didn’t hesitate but jumped right in. We then headed toward the cute town of Ballard where we photographed in the streets and alley’s and then on to Kerry Park on Queen Anne.  The sun needed to drop a bit more in the sky to get the shot I wanted so we took a much needed dinner break. After dinner, I was able to capture the images with the city skyline in the background. Absolutely a fabulous day!

So Exciting!  Images from our first three model shoots are now on display in the Daily Record windows on Main Street in Ellensburg.  These are 20 x 30 prints of all the models participating in the first few model sessions and they are creating quite a buzz!  Congratulations to Rachel Roll, Kaely Sauriol, Samantha Simmons, Sierra Wammock, Ashley Ommen, Brett Almon, Briana Nelson, Chandler Forman, Mackenzie Forman, Brooke Reeves, Diana Acevedo, Elyssa Granger, Fabio Pena, and Rachel Hall.   A display of your images is also up at Gaylyn’s Salon.  Come check them out if you’re in town.  Here are a few snap shots from my iphone.

I’d like to share some of Marina’s senior pictures.  She is a senior at Ellensburg High School.  I photographed her this summer and she wanted me to come out to an old barn that was right by their property.  It mean a lot to Marina because it was part of her childhood memories. She had spent a lot of time playing in it growing up. I personally love to photograph in new places, especially old barns or vintage houses.  They have so much character.  We then headed to my studio in town where we finished her shoot.  Marina was really fun and did a great job with her wardrobe.  I especially loved her hot pink pumps!

Kari came to me in late summer to get her senior pictures taken.  I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and I had a lot of fun visiting with her and her mother while we worked.  Kari was genuinely sweet and somewhat quiet but I’ve heard though the grapevine that she is quite an athlete.  Several other clients after seeing her pictures commented on what great athlete she is.  Kari chose my Unique Session that includes studio and on location photography and 4 outfit changes.  We started in the studio and then headed up to the CWU campus.  Here’s some of my favorite images from her shoot.

I’m so excited to share some of the images that I took of Ana and Caleb, the two winners chosen during our Fashion Show Event.  Mcklyn ,the Seattle Models Guild agent, and his assistant Sarah, greeted many eager faces who waited in line hoping to be the next SMG model.  Mcklyn signed on Caleb and Ana with SMG  that night and things have moved quite fast for the two.  Last I hear they both met with agencies from LA and Milano.  Ana was already up for a paid editorial job a week after the fashion show.  I’m so happy for both of them.  I got to spend the next day after the show photographing them with Mcklyn to get their portfolio started.  We photographed the pair in the industrial part of town and then headed for the country.  Mcklyn was eager to photograph in open fields because he’s a city dweller so we went out of town about 4 miles to a field by the river.  It was a really windy day and it made it hard to hold my off camera soft box, but it really added a cool effect to the images.  On the way back to town, Mckyln hopped out of the car at the stoplight under the freeway and we worked there to get the final shots.  It was a great day and both kids did an amazing job!  Here are some of the images I captured that day.

I posted some pictures earlier this month of Abigail who attends Ellensburg High School to brag about her amazing 5th place in state for tennis.  I feel very fortunate she is also one of my models!  I wanted to follow up with some images that she chose for her senior pictures.

I’d like to share some images that I took of Autumn from East Valley High School.  Autumn was super fun to photograph and work with.  She had great ideas and knew just what she wanted.  She came prepared with beautiful hair and makeup styled by her friend Megan Whiley.  Way to go Megan!  And Autumn and her mom Dani carefully planned her outfits to match each location that we had talked about before hand.  Autumn had a little surprise during her session.  I was photographing her at the park in some tall grass and I was directing her to walk over to a fence when she suddenly started leaping and screaming.  Once we got her calmed down she was able to spit out the word SNAKE.  To my surprise it was one of the biggest bull snakes that I’ve seen in this area.  It was about 2 feet long and about 1.5 inches thick.  I think she scared it as much as it scared her!  I have to hand it to Autumn, she went back into the grass and we were able to finish some last shots before moving on!  I want to share some of my new products that I’m offering this year that Dani and Autumn ordered.  I’ve designed these myself and I have many templates to choose from.  I love how modern they are and Dani had a great idea of using two of the Style Boards on either side of a larger 20×30 metal print.  I can’t wait to get it back from the lab I’m so excited to see them all together in a collection.  Thanks Autumn, Dani and Megan for such a fun afternoon!
