There is a great story that goes along with Chelsea and I’d like to share it here. For Chelsea’s senior project she made a calendar so raise money for the March of Dimes. The following is what is written in the calendar. It is just a summary of the amazing start Chesea had in life:
Miracles come in all sizes!
Chelsea Rane Palomarez was born in the 24th week of pregnancy,
weighing in at 1 pound 4 ½ ounces and measuring only 11 ½ inches
long. At her lowest weight Chelsea was an unbelievable 13 ounces!
With the advances of medicine and the skill and passion of some
very talented care providers Chelsea fought to survive. After 4 ½
months of hospitalization, multiple medical interventions, and
surgery Chelsea went home to live with her parents.
Today Chelsea is a senior at Eisenhower High School, preparing for
graduation and applying for colleges. Chelsea’s start in life inspired
her mother, Terra Palomarez to become a nurse and she now cares
for women during their pregnancy, labor and Delivery at Toppenish
Community Hospital. Together for the last two years Chelsea and
her Mom have been a part of the March of Dimes March for Babies
in an effort to give back to an organization that has had such a huge
impact on their life.
This year the March of Dimes Celebrates their 75th Anniversary
and Chelsea is making the March of Dimes her Senior Class Project.
Chelsea wants to ensure all babies have a fighting chance by helping
the March of Dimes achieve their mission of giving every baby the
healthiest possible start in life.
