I’m a big believe in continuing education. Each year I research and find a couple seminars that I’d like to attend along with one big convention. I think staying up on the latest trends and new techniques is really important to running a successful photography studio. This year in January, I attended Senior Portrait Convention in California. This is one of my favorite conventions because it specializes in Senior Photography and is totally cutting edge. One of the key note speakers at the convention was Travis Gugleman. He is a very successful senior portrait photographer in Idaho. You can check him out here www.gugelmanphotography.com. I really appreciated his fresh approach to senior portraits and his studio is located relatively close to me so I signed up to attend one of his seminars last week. I just got back and I’m so excited to start applying all the cool new techniques I learned. We worked from sun up to sun down averaging about 13 hours a day. We even got to photograph a body builder! I just love to learn…. especially when it’s related to photography or has anything to do with good looking men…Ha. I also took my sales and marketing gal, Sara and we had a lot of fun driving even though it was about a ten hour trip! Check out some of the images that I captured at his workshop.
