This was a super fun shoot to design. I wanted to try something a bit edgier but still have an element of softness. I called this the Victorian Rocker model shoot. I dressed the models in black lace and bought black tule and lace at the fabric store to use as an accent. I spent several hours driving around looking for dried plants like tumble weeds, unusual bushes and thistles. I filled my truck bed full and then hauled them up to my studio to create the set. This was a work in progress- I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. I created three different set in my small studio and made them interesting by using lighting that created shadow through the dried weeds on colorful textured backgrounds. All three sets used a two lighting setup. The models moved well and did an amazing job of taking on the character of the shoot. Clothes are from Maurices and hair and makeup by Gaylyn’s Salon.
